Project Details
ASU 365 Community Union activates Mountain America Stadium, Home of the ASU Sun Devils, for a wide range of non-athletic events. With the support of Coca-Cola, 365 CU will commission a mural on a free-standing outdoor structure located on the Coca-Cola Sun Deck of Mountain America Stadium.
This prominent feature wall structure, measuring approximately 11 x 7.5 x 2.5 feet with four sides, is positioned in a high-traffic area and will be visible during game day events and open to the public daily.
The mural artwork will align with a theme celebrating global diversity and world culture, reflecting ASU’s mission. This outdoor mural will be displayed from Fall 2025 through Summer 2026.
This mural will be promoted with supplemental event programming and will continue to elevate the Coca-Cola Community Art Program, an initiative launched in fall 2023. This program also serves as a current ASU student award program, dedicated to showcasing student works.
Coca-Cola Community Artists
2025: Micaiah Wiafe (image coming soon!)
An ASU graduate student in XR (Extended Reality) technologies, Wiafe is a multidisciplinary artist originally from Ghana. His work has led him to create immersive experiences for education, cultural preservation, and social impact. Wiafe's innovative proposal for the Coca-Cola Community Art Program re-imagined the traditional mural format through an immersive, technology-enhanced approach to captivate stadium visitors in entirely new ways. By leveraging AR (augmented reality) technology, the mural is made interactive, with the artwork coming to life using a mobile Snapchat lens, bringing fans of the game closer together. Wiafe’s background in XR technologies brings a fresh perspective to public art, merging digital elements with traditional artistic techniques. With this new piece, Wiafe’s and inventive vision is reshaping the Coca-Cola Community Art experience and immersive art in our football stadium.
2025: Jenny Tsai (image coming soon!)
A talented mural artist and visual designer originally from Taiwan, Tsai is pursuing a Master’s in UX (User Experience) at ASU. With a rich background spanning over 15 years of fine arts training and more than 6 years of experience in mural creation, they have completed over 10 mural projects across a diverse range of spaces, from public areas and commercial venues to cultural institutions and private commissions.
Tsai's mural work goes beyond decoration, serving as a powerful medium for storytelling and connecting people to their surroundings. Drawing inspiration from the history, traditions, and aesthetics of each location, they transform these elements into immersive visual narratives that become an integral part of the environment. Their work is a testament to the power of murals to preserve cultural memory, spark conversations, and reshape our perception of the spaces we inhabit.

2023: Camila Ibarra
We also celebrate ASU Alumni Camila Ibarra, our first ever local artist selected for the Coca-Cola Community Art program! Camila is a proud Mexican woman from Tucson, Arizona, driven by a passion for sharing her art and its powerful message with the world. Her artistic goal is to inspire passersby to pause, appreciate the vibrant visuals, and feel celebrated by the artwork's themes of cultural diversity and community acceptance.
Ibarra's dedication to representing minority groups stems from her own experiences as a minority. From her journey as a woman in engineering to being the sole person of color in a room, she has often felt overlooked. However, she has transformed these unique experiences into a powerful tool. Through her art, Ibarra celebrates this strength and inspires others to leverage their own uniqueness to their advantage. Learn more about Camila Ibarra at www.camilaoncanvas.com.
